Expect mini-shocks in the economy: DPM Tharman

Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam has warned Singaporeans that they should prepare themselves for the impact of a sluggish global economy in the coming months.
However, the Finance Minister said that the fundamentals of the local economy are still strong, and a major global crisis like the one in 2008 is unlikely to happen. DPM Tharman said this when he was commenting on flash estimates for Singapore's economic growth in the second quarter, which was released on Friday. Full story
