KOLKATA: As many as 68 people, who dreamt of making a career in Singapore, were in for a shock on Friday when they learnt the agency that promised jobs had duped them. The agency charged Rs 80,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh from each candidate.
Ready to depart on Air Asia and Singapore Airlines flights, they learnt at the last moment that they had been cheated by a fly-by-night operator in Navi Mumbai. They had all been lured by advertisements published by Tania International, a Mumbai-based agency with an office in Akash complex in Navi Mumbai's Sector 17. Full story
