Singapore ends April with 8.3 mln broadband subs

The mobile user base in Singapore grew to 7.417 million in April, up from 7.384 million in March. The mobile penetration rate grew to 146.1 percent from 145.5 percent a month earlier, according to figures from regulator IDA. Of the total mobile subscribers in Singapore, 257,400 are 2G postpaid subscribers, 2.069 million are 2G prepaid subscribers, 3.591 million are 3G postpaid subscribers, and 1.499 million are 3G prepaid customers. Meanwhile, the number of broadband subscribers went up to 8.303 million from 8.192 million in March. Of the total, 566,500 use xDSL, 684,500 subscribers access the internet via cable, 7.023 million use wireless broadband, and 29,200 subscribers use other access technologies. Furthermore, some 63,400 people still used dial-up technology in April, down from 64,800 a month earlier. Link
