OPINION: Communists 'saved' Singapore from corruption

Singapore's government is among the cleanest in the world. But if we look at Singapore's history, we find an interesting phenomenon: It was the Communist party that saved Lee Kuan Yew and his People's Action Party.
In Southeast Asia, the year of 1959 was the springtime for the Communist party. At that time, the Communist party was a symbol of cleanness, integrity and bravery in the eyes of ordinary Singaporeans. There were many young people, especially students, in favor of the Communist party. Full story
