Indonesia to Supply Vegetables to Singapore

Following the South Sulawesi government’s agreement with the Singapore government, the region has stated its readiness to supply food to Singapore, especially vegetables and fish produce. “Both commodities are ready for shipment in accordance with the demands,” said Lutfi Halide, the South Sulawesi Agriculture Agency chief, in Makassar yesterday.
According to Lutfi, the produce to be sent to Singapore includes water spinach, spinach, peppers, carrots, and potatoes. The stocks come from several regencies, such as Gowa, Maros, Enrekang and Bantaeng. The vegetables from those regions use organic fertilizers which are sold in supermarkets. “In Makassar, the local produce has entered Carrefour and Gelael supermarkets,” he said. Full story
