KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The death of Osama bin Laden is being celebrated around the world as a victory for justice. But many people caution that it will not end terrorist attacks or ease suffering of those who lost loved ones in bombings by al-Qaida-linked militants.
Haroun Mir, an analyst in the Afghan capital, warns that “Al-Qaida will continue.”
Said Agil Siradj, chairman of Indonesia’s largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama, says bin Laden’s death will help restore Islam’s image as one of people, not violence. But he believes terrorism will continue as long as there is injustice against Muslims. Full story
