The Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau stopped on Tuesday a potential invasion of over 10,000 Formosan subterranean termites, considered the most destructive species in the world, reports Xinhua News Agency.
The termites were found in the wooden packages of goods recently imported to Xiamen port from Singapore during a routine inspection, said the chief of the Xiamen Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, Mr. Zhan Siming. Full story
