Singapore Will Not Reduce GST

Singapore’s Minister for Finance, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, in his speech to parliament rounding up the debate on the 2011 Budget, confirmed that the government had no intention of reducing the rate of goods and services tax (GST) from 7% to 5%, as had been suggested to reduce the effects of inflation in the economy.
