Scientists dismiss "radioactive rain" SMS circulating in Singapore as hoax

SINGAPORE, March 15 (Xinhua) -- A text message circulating in Singapore on Tuesday warning about possible radioactive rain following the explosion in nuclear reactor in Japan have been dismissed by scientists and authorities as a hoax.
The National Environment Agency said that Singapore would not be affected by radioactive rain because the nuclear reactors in Japan were thousands of kilometers away, local media reported.
Local media said the text message originated from the Philippines and had been circulating in Singapore. Full story
