More Chinese Singaporeans Drop Dialects For Mandarin, English

SINGAPORE, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- The share of Chinese living in Singapore who mainly speak dialects at home has fallen to fewer than one in five, compared with close to four in five about 30 years ago, a local newspaper reported Saturday.
Mandarin is now the language most frequently spoken at home for one in two Chinese residents, putting it in the top spot, reports China's Xinhua news agency citing the local daily. Full story
