Defamation Against Sunny George Verghese

On or about 13 Oct 2010, we posted and published an article written by Richard Hutchinson entitled "Higher roller loses $76.5 million in S'pore casino" on our website (http://singaporenewsalternative.blogspot.com/2010/10/higher-roller-loses-765-million-in.html) ("Defamatory Articel'). The Defamatory Article was reproduced from a foreign website (http://www.liveoddsandscores.com/news/betting-industry-news/4215216/higher-roller-loses-76.5-milion-in-singapore-casino)

The Defamatory Article was understood to refer to Mr Sunny George Verghese and contained the following statements and allegations ("untrue Allegations"):

a. Mr Sunny George Verghese is and/or has been engaged in gambling.
b. Mr Sunny George Verghese is and/or has been an excessive and/or compulsive gambler who has been accused of being an imprudent and/or reckless businessman and individual.

We hereby unreservedly retract the Untrue Allegations and the Defamatory Article. We acknowledge and accept that the Untrue Allegations are defamatory of Mr Verghese and are entirely false and baseless.

We also apologise unreservedly to Mr Verghese for the display and circulation of the Defamatory Article and for the publication of the Untrue Allegations.
