Thai Transport Ministry summons THAI executives over joint venture with Tiger Airways

The plan by Thai Airways International (THAI) to set up Thai Tiger Airways (TTA) is facing further scrutiny from the Transport Ministry, which has summoned management to explain the controversial deal.
The ministry has asked senior executives of the flag carrier to appear on Sept 15 to answer questions about the establishment of the low-fare airline, as it found a recent letter from THAI failed to clarify some issues of concern, said Supoj Saplom, permanent secretary of the ministry.
If the ministry finds the deal is not useful or lawful, it will need to be stopped, he told reporters. Full story
