Singapore Prosecutor Asks for Longer Sentence for Convicted Swiss Vandal

A Singapore prosecutor said Swiss executive Oliver Fricker’s five-month jail sentence and three strokes of the cane for vandalism and trespassing is “manifestly inadequate” and asked Singapore’s Court of Appeal to increase it.
“He’s not a first-time offender,” Deputy Public Prosecutor Kan Shuk Weng, said at an appeal hearing in Singapore today when she introduced evidence that Fricker had been convicted of property damage in Switzerland in 2001.
Judge V.K. Rajah allowed the evidence of the previous conviction to be admitted. Full story
