Taiwan pool champion snubs Singapore citizenship, as demand for more perks falls through

Singapore - Singapore has called off a deal with Taiwan's double world pool champion Wu Chia-ching because the player failed to finalise his citizenship in the city-state, a media report said Saturday.
In March last year, Wu, 21, announced that he wanted to become a Singapore citizen and represent the island state, a move that caused outrage in Taiwan but was welcomed by Singapore's pool association Cuesports.
After Wu did not turn up for official appointments to obtainSingapore citizenship, however, Cuesports said it was no longer interested in signing an agreement with Wu, the Straits Times newspaper reported. Full Story
