The SingSpring Desalination Plant at Tuas is Singapore's first seawater desalination plant and it meets some 10% of the nation's water needs, supplying some 136,380 m3 of potable water per day. The plant adopts reverse osmosis technology that uses semi–permeable membranes.
Hyflux developed SingSpring Desalination Plant under a 20–year design, build, own, operate and transfer (DBOOT) arrangement with PUB. Construction of the plant commenced in January 2004 and the plant was completed some three months ahead of schedule. Full Story
