Singapore Unemployment Drops In Q1

(RTTNews) - Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower on Friday said the unemployment rate fell to a seasonally adjusted 2.2% in the first quarter from a revised 2.3% in the previous quarter. At the same time, the jobless rate, among the resident labor force, dipped to 3.2% from a revised 3.3% in the December quarter.
The report showed that employment continued to grow strongly in the first quarter of 2010, amid the robust economic recovery. Total employment rose 34,000 in the first quarter, which was the third quarterly rise after two quarters of decline in the first half of 2009. Full Story
