Singaporean student in Australia hurt in attack

TWO men convicted of a "cowardly" attack on an Asian student avoided jail terms when they were sentenced in the Supreme Court in Hobart yesterday.
Brodie John Cockshutt, 20, of Bridgewater, and Aaron Nicholas Farrell, 19, of New Norfolk, received suspended jail sentences.
The court heard the two had drunkenly attacked University of Tasmania law student Poh Leong Kee, of Singapore, last March after trying to steal his car.
A third offender, Shawn Anthony Woolley, 20, of Bridgewater, pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Poh in the same incident and will be sentenced today. Full Story
