From 21 December 2009, all private education institutions (PEIs) must register with the Council for Private Education to operate in or from Singapore.PEIs currently registered under the Education Act will must register with the Council by 20 June 2011.
These include private universities, commercial schools and international schools.
All other schools must register by 20 February 2010 or they will not be allowed to operate.
