Singapore mulls citizen test

New immigrants to Singapore may one day have to pass a test before they are given citizenship.
Up till now, immigrants have been able to get Singapore citizenship just by living there, for a certain number of years, proving their employment status or by setting up a family there. But following some instances where some new citizens seemingly failed to understand the cultural nuances of Singaporean life or even speak English, calls are being made by politicians and citizens alike, to test the newcomers' knowledge of Singapore, before they are granted citizenship.
