Japan and Singapore agreed Tuesday to work together to enhance the capacity of the Asia-Pacific region to recover from the latest economic downturn so the region can help bring about greater stability in the global economy.
Meeting in Tokyo, Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong also agreed to advance regional cooperation in an open manner in connection with the "East Asian community" concept the Japanese leader has advocated, the Foreign Ministry said.
