Singapore box volumes in August rose over the previous month but stayed soft compared to year-ago throughput, according to data from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
August container throughput increased 2.5% to 2.28 million TEUs compared to July. Year-on-year, however, volumes fell 13.8% from 2.64 million TEUs moved in August 2008.
