Singapore's UOB says Q2 falls 22 pct on bad debt charges

SINGAPORE, Aug 5 (Reuters) - United Overseas Bank (UOB) (UOBH.SI), Southeast Asia's second-biggest lender, said its second-quarter profit fell 22 percent on higher bad debt charges, but the profit drop was smaller-than-expected due to sharply lower taxes.
