Singapore Consumer Prices Fall Fourth Month in a Row

Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore’s consumer prices declined for a fourth straight month in July amid lower housing and transportation costs.
The consumer price index fell 0.5 percent from a year earlier, matching June’s retreat, the Department of Statistics said in a statement today. That compares with the median forecast for a 0.7 percent drop in a Bloomberg News survey of 10 economists. Prices rose 1.1 percent from June, without adjusting for seasonal factors.
