The U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration last week provided training to more than 100 Singaporean government and medical personnel on the response to nuclear and radiological events (see GSN, Jan. 21).
The three-day session included a workshop on detection and identification of radiological material, training on "fission meters" that could establish the presence of nuclear or radiological materials in cargo containers, and training to help medical professionals keep themselves safe while dealing with a radiation disaster.
