The festival has been accused by the media and the public for having grown too "avant-garde" and out of touch with the people. Our tour guide for the third and last press trip of the festival said that in the last three years, the event has become irrelevant to her. Also a sculptor and art teacher, she recalled that the festival she grew up with once enlivened the city with accessible and fun shows or outdoor installations.
"Now I think artists are so concerned with breaking boundaries that they forget about the content," she said.
