SINGAPORE, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore will continue to focus on the development of science and technology capabilities and do more to nurture local talents, a senior official said here on Monday.
Speaking at the opening of the International Conference on Materials for Advanced Technologies 2009, Singapore's Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defense Ng Eng Hen said that the country's economic strategy was to leverage on science and technology to connect with the rest of the world, to overcome earth-bound limitations, to leap-frog geographic regions and technological obsolescence.
