Companies in Singapore need to look at ways to manage costs and retain their existing manpower, a senior official said here on Wednesday.
According to TV broadcaster Channel NewsAsia, Singapore's Labor Chief Lim Swee Say said that the traditional approach of retrenching workers during a downturn and hiring new staff in an upturn is no longer applicable.
