In a recent development, a few days ago, Singapore Airlines had conducted a meeting with the Travel Agents Fraternity to sort out the on-going issue on zero commissions between the agents and the carrier. During this meet, Singapore Airlines along with it's low cost subsidiary Silk Air offered agents two per cent on the PLB (Productivity Linked Bonus) for a minimum business of INR 5,00,000. The Travel Agents Federation declined the proposal explaining that it hardly made any sense to their business prospects and asked the carrier to settle down for a three per cent commission on base fare.
