Sacked Spore Police Officer Arrested For Kidnap Bid In Nepal

KATHMANDU, April 5 - Police busted seven persons, including a sacked Singapore police officer and former Maoist combatants on the charge of kidnapping Rum Bahadur Gurung, a retired officer of Singapore Police, in the capital.
Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) on Sunday made public the gang of abductors, who were arrested before they could extort a huge ransom from the victim. Initially, they had demanded a ransom of Rs. 60.5 million from Gurung.
The arrested, according to police, have been identified as former Singapore Police personnel Sanman Limbu, former Maoist commander Bijaya Kumar Sharma, platoon commander Mohan Budha, company vice commander Bishnu Pun, Prakash Pun, Hira Lal Pun and Bishnu Prasad Sharma.
