Indian Travel Agent Association To Drop Spore As Tourist/Biz Destination If Talk With SIA Fails

PUNE: Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) will be left with no choice but to drop Singapore as a tourist-cum-business destination, if the Singapore Airlines (SA) fails to reinstate rightful commission to International Air Transport Association (IATA) accredited agents bookings, said TAFI, Pune chapter chairperson Aditi Bhende.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Bhende reasoned that SA in violation of the IATA contract unilaterally withdrew from the indenture declaring zero commission to agents in India. While, the Airline is offering attractive commissions between 7-9 per cent to agents in Australia, South Africa, Japan, Middle East etc, she said.
