The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games organizing committee said Tuesday its sponsorship target of $50 million (S) has yet to reach the halfway mark, but Teo Ser Luck, adviser to the YOG organizing committee, said the committee is confident of reaching the sponsorship target.
Channel News Asia reports Teo said even if the target is not met the event will carry on.
Teo said businesses can benefit from the sponsorship in the form of sports marketing, adding that the organizing committee will be approaching small and medium enterprises for sponsorships.
Seven hundred companies have so far pledged to support the 2010 Youth Games.
