Singapore courts show thin skin - again

FP Legal Post, 17 Mar 2009, Mitch Kowalski
We previously blogged about the Singapore court that threw spectators in jail for wearing t-shirts depicting kangaroos dressed as judges. Now the court is stepping up pressure on anyone outside the court room who dares suggest that it's judical system is biased.
Google News AFP
reports that the Singapore Attorney General is suing Wall Street Journal editors Melanie Kirkpatrick, Daniel Hertzberg and Christine Glancey in connection with three pieces published in The Wall Street Journal Asia and its sister publications. Apparently these pieces, two of which were editorials and one, a letter to the editor, "contained passages that scandalise the Singapore judiciary."
That's certainly one way to stifle any discussion of change.
