Myanmar's PM begins official visit to Singapore

SINGAPORE: Myanmar's prime minister arrived Tuesday in Singapore for an official 24-hour visit as authorities cracked down on several pro-democracy activists back home.
Prime Minister Gen. Thein Sein will meet with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and former Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement. It did not specify what the leaders would discuss.
Sein's visit comes as authorities in the military-ruled country arrested five members of the National League for Democracy, theparty of detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
