Singapore calls for immediate cease-fire in Gaza

Trend News, 4 Jan 2009

The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday that an immediate cease-fire should be agreed in Gaza so that urgent humanitarian concerns can be addressed, Xinhua reported.

The ministry said that a cease-fire should be the first step in a process "to ensure that the events that had led to the current situation will not be repeated and to establish a stable modus vivendi in Gaza that is in the best long term interests of both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples."
