Singapore urges maximum restraint in Gaza

SINGAPORE, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore called on all parties in Gaza to exercise maximum restraint and work towards an early re-establishment of the cease-fire, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday night.

"We are deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza with mounting civilian casualties and the possibility of a humanitarian catastrophe," a spokesman of the ministry said in the statement.
