Singapore Ferris wheel stays shut pending probe: police

SINGAPORE (AFP) — The world's biggest observation wheel will remain shut pending a probe into a fire that led to a breakdown while 173 passengers were suspended mid-air, Singapore police said Thursday.

A fire in the control room of the Singapore Flyer late Tuesday caused the shutdown that left passengers, including tourists, trapped for about six hours.
