Peru ports look for Singapore tie

Port Strategy, 25 Dec 2008

The Port of Singapore is said to be interested in an association with Peru's Enap, the national port administration body, according to the Andean country's Minister of Transport Veronica Zavala.

Ms Zavala did not elaborate on what sort of deal the Singaporeans had in mind but added the topic had come up during a recent conversation.

The move fits into a pattern of increasing links between Peru and other, sometimes unlikely, possible partners as the South American country becomes a key player in the commodities market but with a weak infrastructure.
