By the October 31, 2008 deadline, Qatar, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates had submitted letters of interest, the AFC revealed on Friday.
The AFC has been based in Kuala Lumpur since 1965 but in July this year invited bids from other Asian members.
The three associations have until the end of the year to submit detailed bids according to AFC requirements, which includes a formal relationship between AFC and the host government.
