SingTel Warns Strong Currency Will Hurt Results

SINGAPORE -- Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. warned that its fiscal second-quarter earnings will be hurt by a stronger Singapore dollar and costs related to the launch of third-generation iPhones.

SingTel, in a filing with the Singapore Exchange, said currencies in which five regional mobile associates report depreciated against the Singapore dollar during the quarter ended Sept. 30.
