Singapore will be among first to rebound, says Morgan Stanley Asia chairman

SINGAPORE, Nov 14 - Singapore is likely to be one of the first in Asia to recover from the current global economic slowdown, but don’t expect the world to rebound until 2010 or 2011.

This was the prognosis of Stephen Roach, chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia, during the bank’s annual conference here. “If the global economy surprises on the upside, Singapore will be one of the first economies in the region to benefit from that,” he said.
