Singapore Hospital To Draw Medical Tourists

SINGAPORE, Nov 11 (Bernama) -- Singapore, which is already feeling the pinch of the current global economic woes with less tourist arrivals to the city state, is now preparing itself for a different kind of tourists -- medical tourists.

Today, ParkwayHealth, a leading private healthcare group based in Singapore began the construction on its new flagship hospital in Novena here which is set to not only attract Singaporean but also international patients.

According to the multi-agency Singapore Medicine, more than 400,000 foreign patients visited Singapore for medical care last year and this number was expected to rise significantly in the coming years.
