"Now, the Singapore Government has decided to capitalise on the potential in the health sector of Kerala. They have decided to give direct placements for the students passing out of the three government nursing colleges from Kerala without having to go through the rigorous screening procedures in vogue in Singapore.

A high-level team, comprising the health experts from the Singapore Nursing Board, had visited the State in April. They were highly impressed by the educational standards of the three Government-run nursing colleges in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Kozhikode. The high-level team had discussions with the policy-makers of the Health Department during their stay here. A presentation was made for them on the various activities undertaken by the Government and about our performance in the health sector. They were highly impressed by the strong nursing force the State is producing every year.

Following this, the Singapore Nursing Board officials expressed their desire to give direct placements to these students in the hospitals of Singapore."
