SINGAPORE, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Several companies, including Tyco Healthcare and Osim International (OSIL.SI: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), have voluntarily withdrawn hot/cold packs from Singapore after tests showed their products contained a toxic anti-freeze ingredient.
Hot/cold packs, which are applied externally, are used to relieve headaches and toothaches as well as aching muscles and strains.
The packs should contain propylene glycol, a non-toxic anti-freeze substance, but had ethylene glycol in them, Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said in a statement dated Monday.
