Diseases Borne From Singaporean Lifestyle Blamed For 60% Of Deaths

SINGAPORE, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- More than 60 per cent of deaths reported in Singapore over the past 20 years have been blamed on their lifestyle.

And the death knell was delivered by 'lifestyle diseases namely, cancer, coronary heart disease and stroke, said Singapore Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

He said this was the pattern over the past two decades, in contrast with infectious diseases which were the main killers, four decades ago.
