30,000 jobs in Johor await Malaysians facing retrenchment in Singapore

More that 30,000 jobs in Johor await Malaysian workers, who are facing retrenchment, in the recession-hit Singapore, said Johor Baru Branch Department of Labour.

Its deputy director, Mohd Sazali Abdul Wahab said the jobs were available in the professional and non-professional categories in the industrial and services sectors.

“The department will assist Malaysian workers in Singapore, who are facing retrenchment, to find work in the peninsula,” he said, adding that between 150,000 and 300,000 Malaysians are working in various sectors, especially services and electronic industry, in the republic.
