TIGER Airways' largest shareholder, Singapore Airlines, has hit back at suggestions that the budget carrier has lost about $S28 million
($A23 million) on its Australian operations, saying it has injected no money into the airline since October 2005.
Speculation about how Tiger's Australian operations are performing was ignited last month when Singapore Airlines chief executive Chew Choon Seng told analysts that the group's profit for 2007-08 was $S10 million. Given that Singapore Airlines' own business earned $S37.8 million in the year, some concluded that Tiger Australia had lost the rest in its four months of operation.
