Navy stops two S'porean-flagged barges carrying granite illegally

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Navy has detained two Singaporean-flagged barges for illegaly entering Indonesian waters near Batu Ampar in Riau Islands province, a spokesman said.

"The two barges, named Samwoh Pride and Samwoh Glory, were intercepted in Batu Ampar waters last Thursday night (Aug 28)," chief of the Navy`s information service Commodore Iskandar Sitompul said here Monday.

They were captured with 3,776 tons of granite rocks from Tanjung Balai Karimun on board but without the required documents, he said.
