All governments resort to propaganda to stay in power. Our government is certainly no different. But far from turning a blind eye to it, we should always try to unravel what the government tells us if we are to avoid being fooled.
MM Lee’s latest comments are an excellent example of Singapore government propaganda that has been repeated over and over again till bloggers like myself have almost become tired of rebutting it.
Speaking at a National Day dinner on 13 Aug in Tanjong Pagar GRC, MM Lee said, “You vote in a Div 3 Government instead of a Div 1 Government, the whole economy will subside within three, four years. Finished.” (ST article, “Important to have Div I team in Government”, 14 Aug)
