"Barclays will be pleased to hear Temasek reaffirm its long-term commitment to the bank. The Singaporean investment fund admits that it doesn't always time its investments perfectly, but is happy to sit on a chunky loss until it comes back in its own time.

This bodes well for the British bank. Shares in Barclays have more than halved since Temasek bought a £1bn stake last year, with a view to supporting the planned acquisition of ABN Amro. Despite losing £550m, Temasek topped up its stake during Barclay's recent capital raising."
