With a deluge of information posted on the internet as well as traditional print media, it is increasingly necessary to “separate the wheat from the chaff” if one is to avoid information overload and focus one’s mind on the essentials.

This term “separating the wheat from the chaff” leapt to my mind again when I read an ST letter written by Bruno Serrien entitled “The world doesn’t dislike Singapore“, published on 13 Aug.
